Minimal Prep Veneers and All-Ceramic Crowns

Modern indirect aesthetic dentistry has moved away from conventional metal-based restorations and towards beautiful, natural looking all-ceramic options such as eMax.

These restorations have very specific preparation and bonding requirements if they are to perform optimally.

This masterclass covers everything from occlusal concepts and smile design to precision preparations of veneers and crowns in the aesthetic zone.

Our calendar of courses is detailed below.

Delegates will learn:

  • Which occlusal schemes are favourable and which are not. They will learn how to assess occlusion, when to conform and when to reorganise.

  • How to commission an accurate wax up and stents and how to use them to guide a case from start to finish.

  • Delegates will prepare a 10 unit veneer and anterior crown case with perfect surfaces and finish lines.

  • Which burs to use and when.

  • How to deal with existing restorations and when to opt for a crown rather than a veneer.

  • Impression taking: which retraction cord, when and why.

  • How to place retraction cord for the perfect impression.

  • How to take a consistently accurate impression.

  • Provisionalisation: which material and how to maintain perfect gingival health.

  • Delegates will make and bond provisional restorations for their own preparations.

  • Shade taking to achieve predictable results with emax.

  • Lab communication to eliminate errors.

  • How to take accurate clinical photographs of your case to help the ceramist.

  • Correct bonding protocol for emax, which bonding resin, when and how.

  • Appropriate isolation for bonding. Delegates will isolate a 10 unit case with rubber dam, ready for bonding.

  • Delegates will bond a 10 unit veneer/ crown case under rubber dam using both light cure and dual cure resin systems.

  • Finishing and polishing for long term stability of restoration and soft tissues.
